Eligibility
Citizens, GCC nationals, residents, companies, and diplomatic bodies are eligible to apply for this service.
Required documents

For vehicles inspected in the GCC countries

  1. Technical inspection certificate with a maximum validity of 30 days, stamped by the Licensing Authority
  2. Vehicle ownership certificate

For vehicles inspected outside the GCC countries

  1. Technical inspection certificate with a maximum validity of 30 days, stamped by the embassy in the UAE and ratified by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in the UAE
  2. Vehicle ownership certificate

Through Website

  1. The customer logs in to RTA website using his username and password, or UAE Pass.
  2. The customer selects My Vehicles.
  3. The customer selects the vehicle.
  4. The customer selects Adopt a Vehicle Inspection Certificate from Outside the UAE from the services list.
  5. The customer selects the country of origin of the Inspection Certificate.
  6. The customer uploads the documents (ticket, Technical Inspection Certificate, etc.)
  7. The customer reads the Terms and Conditions, then clicks Next.
  8. The customer receives the approval within 1 to 5 working days through an SMS with a link of the confirmation page and a link to the renewal service.

Through Vehicle Registration and Inspection Centres

  1. The customer submits the required documents at the centre.
  2. The customer receives the Vehicle Inspection Certificate.

What you will get

Adoption and submission in the system of the inspection test certificate issued in another country, to renew the ownership of a vehicle licensed in Dubai.
Terms and conditions
  • The technical inspection certificate issued for vehicles or equipment of companies located outside the UAE may be renewed once. For the second renewal, the vehicles and equipment must be inspected and the following documents must be provided:
    1. Letter from the company mentioning that it is located outside the UAE
    2. Copy of the contracts or agreements concluded between the company and the other company outside the UAE.
  • The certificate is rejected after the legal period of 30 days.
  • The certificate is rejected if it is not ratified by the UAE embassy in the concerned country if it was from outside GCC countries.
  • The certificate is cancelled in case of cancelling or changing any of the vehicle's documents.
