Answer 8: The customer must settle all the traffic fines and obtain a clearance certificate from RTA. Any person can represent the customer to apply for this service.

Answer 9: The customer must apply for a Customs transit book (Triptec) at the Automobile & Touring Club of The UAE. After receiving the Customs transit book (Triptec), the customer heads to the the emirate where the vehicle is registered to receive the tourism certificate.
- Question 10: Does the expat customer need a tourism certificate to drive an Emirati-owned vehicle inside GCC countries?
Answer 10: Yes, the customer, whether citizen or expat, must apply for a tourism certificate stating the name of the person that will drive the vehicle.
Expats must get an approval from the Automobile & Touring Club of the UAE to drive a vehicle registered under their name or the name of a UAE citizen in a GCC country.

Answer 12: Yes, the customer needs to visit the testing centre with a letter from the recovery (shipping) company in Arabic stating the customer’s name, destination, and vehicle details, to apply for a tourism certificate.

- Question 14: If the customer is a GCC national and wants to drive his vehicle to a GCC country, will he need to apply for a tourism certificate?
Answer 14: No, citizens and GCC nationals do not need to apply for this certificate when travelling to a GCC country in their own vehicle.
- Question 15: If the customer applied for a tourism certificate and the centre stated the destination on the certificate (GCC country), can he head to a different country other than the one stated?
Answer 15: When travelling within the GCC, there is no need for another certificate if the owner of the vehicle is a citizen or a GCC national.
- Question 16: Is there a minimum period of validity for the vehicle registration required for the customer to apply for a tourism certificate?
Answer 16: There is no minimum validity required. The certificate will be issued as long as the vehicle registration is still valid.
- Question 17: If the vehicle is registered under a governmental entity (for example, Diwan) that wishes to issue a tourism certificate, what is the process to follow?
Answer 17: The entity needs to submit an official letter stating the name of the person who will drive the vehicle.

Answer 18: To issue the tourism certificate, the driver of the vehicle must hold a UAE driving licence.

Answer 19: Yes, but the customer needs an eNOC from the mortgagor.

Answer 20: If someone other than the owner is driving the vehicle, he must present a legal representation document from the owner to proceed with the service. Alternatively, if the owner is present in person, a copy of the driving licence is required to proceed with the service.
