Signing an agreement to launch aerial taxis by 2026
During World Governments Summit, His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, witnessed the signing of an agreement to launch aerial taxis in Dubai by 2026. Following the agreement, Dubai is set to become the first city in the world with a commercial, city-wide electric aerial taxi service and vertiport network.

Ahmed bin Mohammed opened 5th UITP MENA Transport Congress and Exhibition 2024
Under the patronage of His Highness Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Crown Prince of Dubai and Chairman of The Executive Council of Dubai, the 5th UITP MENA Transport Congress and Exhibition 2024 was inaugurated by His Highness Sheikh Ahmed bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Second Deputy Ruler of Dubai. The event was hosted by Dubai’s Roads and Transport Authority (RTA), in partnership with the International Association of Public Transport (UITP).

His Excellency Mattar Al Tayer, Commissioner General for Infrastructure, Urban Planning and Well-Being Pillar, and Chairman of the Board of Executive Directors of RTA, emphasised during his keynote speech at the World Governments Summit 2024, titled ‘Urban Planning and Future Cities’, that the increasing challenges associated with rapid global growth require future governments to focus on urban development to enhance the quality of life across various sectors.
