In pursuit of RTA's efforts to serve Dubai inhabitants, RTA gives paramount consideration to the elements of installation and deployment of modern and traditional marine transport, which implies on various forms that aim to encourage the public on using marine transport such as Abra, Dubai Ferry and Dubai Water Taxi.

Abra comes from the Arabic verb 'abara' which means 'to cross'. Take a ride on the Dubai Abra, the city's most traditional mode of transport. For centuries, it has remained one of Dubai's most frequented modes of transport, making it the symbol of the city's history and heritage.

Air-conditioned Abra

Air-conditioned Abra

Combining the style of a traditional Abra and the latest technologies, this abra ride makes for a comfortable cruise in a fully air-conditioned environment. Sit back and travel along to the Creek Metro Station, after a visit to your favourite stores, restaurants and cafes in Dubai Festival City.

Petrol Abra

A modern take on the traditional Abra. The latest technology makes it very safe and accessible for all the passengers, while delivering the traditional Abra experience. The petrol Abra also provides abundant seating capacity of up to 20 passengers.

Petrol Heritage Abra - Creek

The best of both worlds come together in this modern yet traditional Abra. Equipped with the latest technology, enjoy a safe cruise without missing the traditional experience. Discover the traditional Fahidi Area, historical district Souqs and stunning mosques. Go on to explore the Dubai Museum and visit Sheikh Saeed Al Maktoum's house along the Dubai Creek, which divides Deira and Bur Dubai. Hop on for a glimpse of the soulful side of the city.

Petrol Heritage Abra - Dubai Water Canal

Experience a combination of contrasts as you pass Dubai's modern skyline and the waterfall in a stylish Petrol Heritage Abra. And relax as you get to your destination, refreshed and ready to either walk or cycle through the newest area in Dubai.

  • Sheikh Zayed road marine station (TR6) - (Roundtrip). The trip takes 45 minutes. Minimum of 6 passengers is required to conduct the trip.

  • AED 25 per hour/person, AED 300 per hour/charter Children 0- 2 years - free

Motorized traditional abra

Discover the charm of old Dubai in this traditional half-boat, half-raft. This is the most popular mode of transport for cruising around the Dubai Creek, a spectacular 14 kilometre stretch which divides Deira and Bur Dubai. Hop on for a glimpse of the soulful side of the city.

  • Bur Dubai Abra Station to Deira Old Souq Abra Station and vice versa
  • Dubai Old Souq Station to Al Sabhkha Abra Station and vice versa

Fare (Payment with cash)

  • AED 1 per passenger, per trip
  • The Abra can be booked as a private charter for cruising across the Creek for AED 120 per hour
 

Electrical traditional abra

Electrical traditional abra

The environment-friendly Abra with a seating capacity of 8 passengers has become a tourists' favourite for cruising along the city's popular attractions.

  • Unaccompanied children under the age of 12 are not allowed to use the Marine Transport Modes. A Valid ID proof of the child must be presented.
  • Children under 12 years of age accompanied by an adult must wear life jacket while onboard.
  • A Valid ID proof of the child must be presented to the Ticketing & Information Office at Marine Transport Stations.
