MENA Transport Congress and Exhibition kicks off in Dubai

Under the patronage of His Highness Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Crown Prince of Dubai, Chairman of the Executive Council, Dubai Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) and UITP (International Association for Public Transport) is hosting the 5th edition of the MENA Transport Congress and Exhibition (MTCE) under the theme of ‘Sustainable Mobility and Wellbeing.’ The three-day event (from 28th February to 1st March 2024) reflects RTA's dedication to developing public transportation while focusing on inspiring positive change and drive towards a more sustainable and livable future.

The Congress highlights cutting-edge technology and best global practices in transportation, urban mobility innovations to achieve the global climate objective of net zero emissions by 2050. 

More than 2,000 participants, including industry experts, researchers, heads of government entities, and leaders will attend the Congress, to exchange knowledge and expertise in the transportation and public transportation sector. The Congress will host more than 65 speakers from 22 countries to devise innovative solutions that support sustainable transport and community well-being.

An exhibition featuring 46 exhibitors will showcase the latest technologies, projects, and initiatives that aim to revolutionise transportation systems and promote sustainable solutions.

Mohammed Obaid Al-Mulla, Member of RTA’s Board of Executive Directors and Chair of the High Committee of MTCE stated that this year's Congress holds a special standing as it sheds light on the significance of sustainable transport in addressing the urgent environmental challenges with meaningful discussions, the conference aims to develop implementable strategies that prioritize the well-being of communities.

“The MTCE has become a platform for exchanging experiences, best practices, and innovative ideas, showcasing urban mobility solutions, and enhancing communication between industry leaders, policymakers, and experts,” added Al Mulla. 

The topics to be discussed include AI, Green Mobility, Resilient Infrastructure, Urban Planning, Quality of Life, Global Best Practices, and Sustainable Urban Mobility.
