Ahmed Mahboob
Chief Executive Officer of the Licensing Agency
Ahmed Mahboob is the CEO of Licensing Agency at RTA, which is the agency responsible for developing and regulating of drivers licensing and vehicle registration services in Dubai. The Agency looks into all matters of developing of policies, legislation and technical standards that ensure vehicle safety testing and training & qualifying safer drivers as well as monitoring and enforcing such policies and legislation in order to increase road safety.
He is bringing over 20 years of senior executive management experience in government and private sectors. He has a bachelor’s degree in civil engineering and a master’s in quality management. Additionally, he is a graduate of the Mohammed bin Rashid Centre for Leadership Development, the UAE Government Leaders Programme, and the CEO Happiness and Positivity Programme.
Mahboob has experience in managing organizations, overseeing various engineering and technical projects, and achieving numerous successes. His expertise covers government services development, digital transformation, artificial intelligence, and the Emirates Programme for Excellence in Government Services. He gained expertise in various RTA sectors and agencies, including the Strategy and Corporate Governance Sector, and Traffic & Roads Agency.
He contributed to achieving several government excellence awards at local, regional, and international levels, such as the Hamdan bin Mohammed Smart Government Programme and the Dubai Government Excellence Programme (27 awards) and amassing 20 national and international awards.
Mahboob played a crucial role in RTA’s commercial transformation projects. He was involved in establishing Parkin Company, where he currently serves as Vice Chairman. In addition, he chairs or is a member of various RTA committees, including the Supreme Fiscal Committee in the Emirate of Dubai, the Higher Leadership Committee, the Higher Committee for Strategic Planning and Corporate Development, the Higher Committee for Customer Service, and the Higher Committee for Managing RTA’s Events. Furthermore, he actively participates in several committees across the Emirate related to infrastructure, urban planning, and well-being.
