Steps

  1. Log in using your valid Emirates ID, passport, or UAE Pass.
  2. Verify the eye test validity.
  3. Select Amending Driving Licence Data from Drivers Licensing Services list.
  4. Specify and confirm the changes (personal photo, name, nationality, date, with or without glasses, Driving Licence source).
  5. To change the Driving Licence source:
    • Select the driving institute to book the Road Test appointment.
    • Confirm your details and the details of the selected driving institute.
    • Book the Knowledge Test and Road Test appointments.
    • Pay the fees.
    • After passing the Road Test, receive a notification to proceed with updating your Driving Licence.
    • The Driving Licence source is updated to “Issued from Test.”
  6. In case of changing your personal photo, receive the approval through SMS and email within 2 working days.
  7. Select the delivery method (electronic licence through the RTA Dubai App wallet, Self Service Machines, or delivery service).
  8. Pay the fees and fines.
  9. Receive the licence as a Digital Driving Licence. You can receive the original copy of the amended licence through:
    •  Self Service Machines 
    • Delivery service, with the fees as follows:
      • Standard delivery: AED 20
      • Same day delivery: AED 35
      • Delivery within 2 hours: AED 50
      • International delivery (GCC countries): AED 50.
  10. Receive the licence through the RTA Dubai App (My Docs) , and add it to your Apple or Samsung Wallet, if any.

Steps

  1. Log in using your UAE Pass.
  2. Click Services , then select Transport .
  3. Go to Vehicle and Driver Services and click Manage my Licence .
  4. Select the active Driving Licence.
  5. Click Amend Driving Licence .
  6. To amend the name, go to Select Name, choose the name you want or customise it, review the details, and click Continue .
  7. To change the photo, upload the photo you want, click Continue , review the licence details and click Submit . Once you receive the approval notification, open the request.
  8. Review the licence details and click Confirm to continue.
  9. Select the delivery method and click Continue .
  10. Review the payment details and click Pay .
  11. Select the payment method and complete the payment.

You Should Know

  1. People of Determination with a Sanad card benefit from a 50% discount on RTA services.
  2. Your Emirates ID must be valid.
  3. If you want to change your photo, you must submit a new one.
  4. You must pay all fines to apply for this service.

  1. Q : Can diplomats apply for the service via electronic channels?
    • A: Yes.
  2. Q : If I have the glasses sign on my Dubai Driving Licence, but I start using contact lenses instead of glasses, should I add the contact lenses sign to the Driving Licence?
    • A: According to the procedures, there's no difference between glasses and contact lenses, and you can use them both while driving.
  3. Q: Does the validity of the Driving Licence change if its data is amended?
    • A: No, the validity of the Driving Licence doesn't change. Only the amended data displayed on the Driving Licence changes.
  4. Q : What's the procedure if I become a Person of Determination after obtaining the Driving Licence? Can I continue to use the same licence?
    • A: You must first undergo a medical assessment at Rashid Hospital in Dubai to confirm your fitness to drive and determine whether any special conditions are required. Depending on your medical condition or disability, the medical team will assess your case and refer you to the relevant clinical specialty or hospital, if necessary. Following the medical assessment, you must visit a Customer Happiness Centre and present your People of Determination card to complete the required licensing procedures and activate the People of Determination feature on your Driving Licence.

Note: You mustn't drive until your medical fitness to drive has been confirmed and all required licensing procedures have been completed, even if your existing driving licence is still valid.
