Through Website

1. The customer logs in using his username and password, or UAE Pass.
2. The system verifies the account.
3. The customer selects the plates.
4. The customer applies for a commercial licence plate (in case of renewal or cancellation, the customer selects the commercial plate and requests renewal or cancellation, then confirms the presence or loss of the plates).
5. The system verifies that the plate number is insured (in case of a new plate or renewal only).
6. The UAE Pass is verified.
7. The customer settles the required fees (no fees in case of cancellation).
8. The customer heads to the Customer Happiness Centre to receive the vehicle ownership and the plates, or to hand over the plates.

Through Customer Happiness Centres

1. The customer heads to the front desk employee.
2. The employee sends a link to the customer.
3. The customer uploads the required documents through the link.
4. The customer receives the transaction code.
5. The customer submits the transaction code to the front desk employee to complete the service process (new plate, renewal, or cancellation), checks and electronically signs the application.
6. The customer settles the required fees.
7. The customer receives the vehicle ownership and the plate.

General terms

• In case of lost commercial plates, the customer must apply for a lost commercial plate, cancel the old plates, and issue new commercial plates by virtue of a police report.
• In case of damaged commercial plates, the customer must hand over the damaged plates to the service centre to issue new plates.
• The customer is required to settle all the traffic fines before receiving this service.
• The service is available on RTA website for individual establishments only.

For a new plate

• RTA allocates commercial plates for major dealerships that are known in Dubai and also for accredited showrooms in the emirate, to be used for transporting vehicles.
• The Licensing Agency (LA) specifies the number of plates after studying the request.
• One person must be authorised to sign on behalf of the company.
• The plate numbers must be used only by the company that owns them.
• The traders who work for the company must use vehicles that have these plate numbers.
• The company must apply for a new commercial plate number in case of losing the plates.
• The plate numbers are registered to the company, not the vehicle.
• The plate must be insured by a private insurance company.
• The company must add a Salik tag on the commercial plate.
• The customer can apply for new plates in case of losing one or both plates after canceling the number.

For renewing

• The customer must hand over the vehicle plates.
• The customer must replace the plates every year with the same plate number.
• Re-registration terms apply in case of an expired vehicle ownership.
• The customer has to choose one of the following centres to hand over the old plates and receive the new ones:
