Board of Trustees of Hamdan Bin Mohammed Award for Innovation in Project Management approves award winners
The Board of Trustees of the Hamdan Bin Mohammed Award for Innovation in Project Management has held a meetingchaired by HE Mattar Al Tayer, Director General and Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) cum Chairman of the Board of Trustees of the Award. 18 candidates from the International Judges Committee were approved by the Board of Trustees to name the winners, who will be announced on the 20th of November 2017 in conjunction with the launch of the fourth Dubai International Project Management Forum 2017.
Ms Laila Faridoon, Secretary General of the Award, said, “As many as 82 entries were submitted by the Technical Advisory Committee of Hamdan Bin Mohammed Award for Innovation in Project Management to the International Judges Committee, comprising prominent specialists and project management experts. Following anassessment by the Technical Advisory Committee, 18 nominations were submitted to the Board of Trustees of the Award to approve them as winners. They include three candidates from each of the six categories of the Award, and the Board of Trustees of the Award has approved the winners from each category. The ultimate objective of the Award is to rank Dubai as a globalcentrefor PM innovators and specialists, besides encouraging innovation in this field. The Award, which has total prize money of about AED 2 million (USD $550,000), seeks to add a new dimension to theinnovative business sector in the Gulf region.”
Award categories
“The Award contains three categories: The first is the Individual Category with a total prize money of USD $60,000. This award is divided into two parts: The Innovative Project Manager Award, which has prize money of USD $30,000. Itfocuses on theBenefits Realization Management; Cost, Time, &Job Scope Management; Procurement Management; Quality Management; Risk and Issue Management; Culture, Change and Stakeholder Needs Management.
“The second award is the Innovative PMO Manager Award and has a prize money of USD $30,000. It covers Cost, Time, &Job Scope Management; Project Integration Management; Risk and Issue Management; Project Portfolio Strategy & Governance Management; Performance of PMO Management; Communication Management; Resource management; and Development of Standards, Methodologies & Processes of PM,” added Faridoon.
The second category is the Innovative Project Team Award with prize money of USD $40,000. It covers four fields: Communication Management, Change, Culture and Stakeholder Needs Management, Risk and Issue Management; and Project Integration Management.
The third category of the Award is designated for Innovative Idea in organisations and has total prize money of USD $450,000. It is divided into three parts covering the Innovative Idea in Project Management Award with a prize of USD $100,000. Its covers Benefit Realization Management; Cost, Time, & Scope Management; Procurement Management; Project Integration Management; Quality Management; Risk and Issue Management; and Culture, Change and Stakeholder Needs Management.
The second is the Innovative Idea in Program Management Award, with a prize of USD $150,000. It covers Cost, Time, &Job Scope Management; Procurement Management; Risk and Issue Management, Project Governance Management; and the Strategic Alignment of Programs &Utility Management.
The third is the Innovative Idea in Projects Portfolio Management Award with a prize totallingUSD $200,000. It covers Risk and Issues Management, Culture, Change and Stakeholder Needs Management; Projects Portfolio Strategy & Governance Management; and Projects Portfolio Performance Management.
