Statement of His Excellency Director General, Chairman of the Board marking 52nd Union Day

His Excellency Mattar Al Tayer, Commissioner General for Infrastructure, Urban Planning, and Wellbeing Pillar, and Director General, Chairman of the Board of the Roads and Transport Authority, congratulated His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, President of the UAE, and His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President, Prime Minister of the UAE, Ruler of Dubai along with Their Highnesses Members of the Supreme Council, Rulers of the Emirates, Crown Princes, citizens and residents of the UAE on the 52nd Union Day. 


“The UAE's 52nd Union  Day celebrations have added significance this year as they coincide with the hosting of the 28th Conference of the Parties to the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (COP28) at Expo City Dubai. As such, it is a testament to the UAE's extensive development and achievements, particularly in preserving resources and the environment. The UAE has declared 2023 as the 'Year of Sustainability' under the theme 'Today for Tomorrow' to promote awareness of environmental sustainability & development issues and support national strategies in these fields.


“The 2nd of December is momentous and a joyful  for a nation proud of its tangible achievements and efforts made to create the future and sustain prosperity for all those living in the UAE. 


“The UAE is on a path of progress that will serve as a global model of holistic development across the board. The country is eager to maintain its humanitarian role in assisting brothers and friends worldwide to alleviate suffering and assistance  in times of need,” commented Al Tayer.
