Project Description

• Construction of a 15km metro track with 11.8km dedicated to the elevated track and 3.2km for tunnels.
• The building of 7 new metro stations including 1 interchange station, 3 elevated stations, 2 underground stations, and the Expo 2020 Station.
• Supplying 50 new trains including 35 for the Red and Green Lines and 15 for Route 2020.
• Development of train operational and control systems.

Project Benefits

• Serves both the Expo 2020 Dubai site and several Dubail communities with a combined population of approximately 270,000, and Al Maktoum International Airport.
• Facilitated safe and smooth transport for Expo 2020 Dubai visitors.
• Links densely populated areas including The Gardens, Discovery Gardens, Al Furjan, Dubai Investment Park, and Jumeirah Golf Estate.
• Provides an optional connection to Al Maktoum Airport.
• Capacity of Route 2020 is estimated at 46,000 passengers per hour in both directions (23,000 passengers per direction per hour), based on a 110-second train time.
