10th Dubai International Project Management Forum to Spotlight 'Sustainable Future' as Central Theme


(Al Tayer: 400 global experts have shared their best practices and innovative solutions in project management)

Under the patronage of His Highness Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Crown Prince of Dubai, Deputy Prime Minister, Minister of Defence, and Chairman of the Executive Council of Dubai, Dubai’s Roads and Transport Authority (RTA), in partnership with the Project Management Institute (PMI) and Dubai Electricity and Water Authority (DEWA), is preparing to host the 10th Dubai International Project Management Forum (DIPMF).

Centred around the theme "Sustainable Future," the event will cover 19 key topics, with a focus on Sustainable Cities, Transformation, Future Jobs, and the Future of Project Management.


RTA announced that registration for the forum would open starting tomorrow, Friday 11 October 2024, via the website www.dipmf.ae


The forum, scheduled to take place from 13 to 16 January 2025 at Madinat Jumeirah, will feature key presentations on topics such as sustainable project management, sustainable mobility, and cities of the future. Under the Transformation theme, discussions will focus on leadership and strategy, customer centricity, agile management, construction efficiency, artificial intelligence, big data, digital twins and the metaverse, blockchain, and the profound impact of Generative AI, including GPT.


The Future Jobs theme will cover topics including efficiency and performance improvement, remote project management, and the circular economy and project economy. Meanwhile, the Future of Project Management theme will delve into subjects such as virtual and augmented reality, information exchange management, future trends in project management, and self-managed projects.


10th Edition


His Excellency Mattar Al Tayer, Director General, Chairman of the Board of Executive Directors of Dubai’s Roads and Transport Authority (RTA), stressed the global standing that the DIPMF has achieved, contributing to reinforcing Dubai's prominent position in hosting major events and global activities. “This success is attributed to the visionary guidance of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President, Prime Minister of the UAE, and Ruler of Dubai and the continuous follow-up of His Highness Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Crown Prince of Dubai, Deputy Prime Minister, and Minister of Defence,” noted Al Tayer.


“After 10 years since its inception, DIPMF has become a prominent event on the agenda of international specialist conventions. Over the past nine editions, the event attracted 400 experts and specialists from various countries, who have shared their best practices and creative solutions in project management and were keen to come up with innovative approaches for managing and operating projects according to the highest international standards,” he added.


Proven Successes


Moaza Saeed Al Marri, Chairperson of the Higher Organizing Committee of DIPMF, stated, “Now in its 10th edition, the forum has built a strong track record of success and earned a global reputation by attracting top experts, leading specialists, and internationally renowned speakers in project management.

Participants have contributed valuable insights and ideas on project management and operations, all aligned with the highest international standards and practices.”


“The previous nine editions attracted 17,000 participants from various economic and commercial sectors worldwide, holding positions such as heads of authorities, directors, senior officials, project managers, engineers, and university students. Dubai has distinguished itself by hosting global events, uniting international expertise and talent to foster innovative and sustainable solutions in project management,” commented Al Marri.


“The previous edition produced 13 key recommendations focused on sustainability, modern project management methodologies, future trends and technologies, and core skills. The event was highly successful, with 49% of attendees being project managers, 17% department heads, 14% senior engineers and project engineers, and 6% senior specialists and team leaders, alongside project specialists and consultants. Additionally, the previous edition saw strong engagement from followers across websites, social media platforms, and various media outlets, with activities receiving widespread positive feedback,” she added.


10 Years of Meaningful Themes


Since its inception in 2014, DIPMF has introduced numerous important topics and themes with diverse content but all united in their goals of advancing project management and operations in line with the highest international standards and practices. The forum’s themes have included: "Project Management Supports Innovation, Shaping the Future, Making a Difference, Building Nations (coinciding with the Year of Zayed to highlight the role of the late Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan), Cultural Diversity (in line with the Year of Tolerance in 2019), Mapping the Future, Fostering Well-Being, Beyond Boundaries, and now, the theme for the current edition, Sustainable Future.
