Customers Council hosts discussions with Al Barsha residents to review road and infrastructure projects

The Customer Council of Dubai’s Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) held a discussion session at Al Barsha Pond Park, engaging with residents and visitors to gather feedback and suggestions. The session highlighted RTA’s ongoing and upcoming projects aimed at enhancing road infrastructure, improving traffic flow, and elevating the quality of urban mobility. Several CEOs, directors, managers, and key personnel from relevant RTA sectors and agencies attended the event.
Ahmed Mahboub, CEO of the Licensing Agency, Chair of the Customer Council at RTA welcomed Al Barsha residents, reaffirming RTA’s infrastructure, and ensuring seamless mobility for both residents and commuters.
Hussain Al Banna, CEO of the Traffic and Roads Agency emphasised RTA’s proactive approach to engaging with the wider community through diverse communication channels. He highlighted RTA’s ongoing efforts to elevate customer satisfaction by delivering world-class road networks and services across Dubai. He also stressed the importance of understanding future mobility aspirations, conducting in-depth studies, and developing tailored solutions.
Hamad Al Shehhi, Director of Roads at the Traffic and Roads Agency, provided an overview of RTA’s completed road projects, ongoing initiatives, and upcoming plans aimed at improving traffic flow in Al Barsha. He highlighted key developments, including a direct entrance from Sheikh Zayed Road and the expansion of Umm Suqeim Bridge. Al Shehhi reiterated that all RTA projects adhere to global best practices to ensure efficiency, sustainability, and enhanced mobility.
Attendees expressed their appreciation for RTA’s year-round efforts and underscored the significance of road projects, including new street construction, congestion management at residential and commercial access points, and optimising truck crossing schedules. They also highlighted the importance of ongoing initiatives to expand green spaces, provide shaded parking, and introduce new standards for electric chargers, shaded structures, and landscaping projects.
Additionally, participants stressed the need to prioritise major projects related to cycling and e-scooter tracks, reaffirming RTA’s commitment to expanding the emirate’s cycling network.
At the conclusion of the session, attendees commended RTA’s proactive engagement with communities across Dubai. They praised its dedication to addressing feedback, swiftly resolving concerns, and maintaining transparency on project developments and future outcomes. Participants also expressed hope that RTA would continue hosting such meetings, fostering direct dialogue with stakeholders, aligning future mobility plans with community aspirations, and upholding world-class transport services that benefit both residents and visitors across the emirate.
