Hamdan and Maktoum Contributed to Strengthening Dubai Government’s Global Leadership
His Excellency Mattar Al Tayer, Director General, Chairman of the Board of Executive Directors of Dubai’s Roads and Transport Authority (RTA), extended his warmest congratulations and best wishes to His Highness Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Crown Prince of Dubai, Deputy Prime Minister, Minister of Defence, and Chairman of The Executive Council of Dubai, and His Highness Sheikh Maktoum bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, First Deputy Ruler of Dubai, Deputy Prime Minister, and Minister of Finance, on the occasion of the 17th anniversary of their taking of leadership roles in Dubai.
This year’s anniversary coincides with His Highness Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed’s appointment to the UAE Federal Government as Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Defence.
Al Tayer expressed his sincere wishes for their continued health, success, and prosperity in fulfilling the aspirations of the UAE’s leadership and further strengthening the nation's pioneering achievements in service to its citizens, residents, and visitors.
Al Tayer added: “His Highness Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed and His Highness Sheikh Maktoum bin Mohammed have inherited their leadership acumen and forward-thinking vision from their father, His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE, and Ruler of Dubai. Their exceptional governance is evident in their strategic leadership of the Dubai Government and federal institutions they oversee as well as their hands-on approach in advancing key developmental projects and initiatives.
Through their proactive management of complex issues, ability to navigate challenges, and commitment to continuous innovation, Their Highnesses have propelled the Dubai Government toward unprecedented transformation and progress. Under their leadership, Dubai has evolved into a smart government that delivers seamless, round-the-clock services, driving increased productivity, enhanced service quality, and higher levels of customer and employee happiness.”
“In addition to their leadership in government administration, strategic portfolios, and initiatives driving comprehensive development in Dubai, Their Highnesses take a personal interest in overseeing initiatives and projects that directly impact citizens' well-being.
“This commitment reflects their dedication to ensuring social and family stability, enhancing quality of life, and providing support for the Citizens’ Housing Programme. With a historic housing budget of AED 65 billion allocated until 2040, this programme aims to establish a comprehensive and sustainable development model that places human happiness at its core.
“Furthermore, Their Highnesses closely oversee the implementation of Dubai’s Quality of Life Strategy 2030, which includes over 200 projects, initiatives, and strategic plans designed to enhance living standards across the emirate,” continued Al Tayer.
He added: “Their Highnesses place a high emphasis on ensuring the sustainability of Dubai’s economic and developmental growth, driven by a commitment to strengthening Dubai’s global standing as a leading financial and business hub. Since 2021, Dubai has witnessed 10 IPOs, generating total revenues exceeding AED 43 billion, with investor demand surpassing AED 1.2 trillion.
“Additionally, Their Highnesses have approved the implementation of the Dubai Metro Blue Line project, one of the largest strategic infrastructure initiatives aimed at enhancing the region’s public transport network. Costing AED 20.5 billion, the project spans 30 kilometres, includes 14 stations, and will serve residential areas projected to accommodate approximately one million people by 2040.”
His Excellency concluded by praying to Almighty God to bless His Highness Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum and His Highness Sheikh Maktoum bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum with continued health, well-being, and long life.
