Partnership with Dubai Club for People of Determination to empower champion athlete Siham Al Rashidi
Dubai’s Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) announced its commitment to supporting and empowering Siham Al Rashidi, a celebrated para-athlete, who has achieved a remarkable journey filled with sporting success and moments of pride. She has earned approximately 600 medals—gold, silver, and bronze—across national, regional, Asian, and global competitions in athletics, including discus, javelin, shot put, and badminton.
RTA’s support to champion athlete Siham Al Rashidi is part of an agreement aimed at exchanging expertise, integrating efforts, and fostering partnerships to support People of Determination, preparing them to participate and excel in various championships, besides promoting social responsibility towards athletes from People of Determination. Under this agreement, RTA’s role includes offering moral support in the form of encouragement and follow-up, providing financial assistance, coordinating with the Dubai Club for People of Determination, and overseeing training programmes and competition plans.
Al Rashidi has made remarkable achievements at recent championships, among which are the 4th West Asia Para Games - Sharjah 2024 (Silver in Discus Throw), the Sharjah International Open Athletics Meeting 2024 (Bronze in Discus Throw), and the trophy of Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Award... "Like My Mother” as part of the initiatives of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President, Prime Minister of the UAE, Ruler of Dubai.
She also excelled in the Dubai 2024 World Para Athletics Grand Prix - 15th Fazza International Para Athletics Championships (Bronze in Discus Throw), the Arab Paralympic Badminton Championship - Bahrain 2024 (Two Golds in Badminton), and the World Para Athletics Grand Prix Marrakesh 2022 (Two Golds in Discus Throw).
Empowering Al Rashidi
The collaboration with the Dubai Club for People of Determination aims to foster sports empowerment of athletes among People of Determination. This support facilitates opportunities for athletes to achieve sporting accolades and medals in sports games and international competitions.”
RTA will monitor the outcomes of the agreement by publicising the successes and promoting them as role models. The agreement encourages male and female athletes facing various challenges to enable them to compete globally, aiming for gold medals and showcasing UAE achievements on international podiums.

Majid Al-Usaimi, Executive Director of the Dubai Club for People of Determination extended his gratitude to RTA, for their commitment to empowering People of Determination, enhancing their happiness, and cultivating a culture of participation in community initiatives aimed at improving the services provided to them. She renewed her commitment to intensifying her efforts in training, motivated by the continued support and empowerment provided by the UAE’s official entities to the champions among People of Determination.
