RTA obtains ISO certification in Governance of Organisations
Dubai’s Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) has been accredited with ISO 37000:2021 Governance of Organisations certificate, the latest in the field of Governance of Organizations. It marks the first time such a certificate is issued ever by ISO to an entity worldwide. From its inception, RTA has been keen on adopting top international practices in the field of Governance of Organisations to realise the vision of our leaders.
“As part of its efforts to fulfil the requisites of this international specification, RTA took pioneering steps towards implementing an integrated governance structure precisely aligned with the requirements of the specification and at the same capable of supporting RTA’s endeavours to achieve effective monitoring and excellent performance. RTA is keen to implement the latest developments of corporate governance. In this regard, it has developed an innovative and unique system that merited it to obtain this ISO certification in a record time, just shortly after the specification was released,” said Abdullah Al Jawi, Director of Internal Audit cum Chairperson of Governance Assessment Committee, RTA.
RTA adopts well-defined principles of corporate governance and set them as a base for all activities. It endeavours to implement the top practices of governance, and adopt an integrated government model for corporate governance. It also observes the latest international practices of monitoring and auditing to step up professionalism and transparency standards.
