RTA signs MoU with Mohammed Bin Rashid School of Government

Dubai’s Roads and Transports Authority (RTA) has signed a Memorandum of Understanding with the Mohammed bin Rashid School of Government (MBRSG) to boost cooperation in several fields like scholarships, specialized training, research, studies and public events.
Yousif Al Redha, CEO of RTA’s Corporate Administration Support Services Sector, signed for RTA; and HE Dr Ali Sebaa Al Marri, Executive President of MBRSG, signed for MBRSG.
“We are pleased to sign the MoU with MBRSG; a prominent scientific and academic institution in the UAE that continuously enriches government sectors with vital knowledge and information in the field of public administration,” said Yousif Al Redha. “RTA is always keen to promote the knowledge, skills and talents of employees, especially Emiratis, including senior leaders. RTA has a consistent strategy to actively contribute to achieving the goals set by the government to create a knowledge-based economy and a community that contributes to enhancing the global profile of the UAE and Dubai,” added Al Redha.
“Since its inception, MBRSG has emerged as a leading academic institution that contributes to boosting corporate government performance and reflecting the vision of leaders for enhanced cooperation between institutions. Such efforts will develop the human capital, knowledge sharing, and skills. It will also build a unique generation of leaders in various fields; which sets the base for a sustainable future of all sectors,” added Dr Ali Sebaa Al Marri, Executive President of MBRSG.
“This MoU with RTA is a starting point towards establishing a common strategic knowledge partnership built on shared visions and intensive efforts to drive government business to new excellence standards. Realising this objective requires academic knowledge based on best studies as well as sharing research findings and experiences. These measures will render Dubai an example to be emulated in setting cooperation between governmental bodies and academic institutions in the interest of the UAE and the community,” said Dr Ali Sebaa Al Marri.
“This MoU reflects RTA’s keenness to empower its staffs to cope with the futuristic directions of the Government and achieve the strategic objectives,” said Nadia Kamali, Director of Business Development and Strategic Alliances at MBRSG. “The MoU stresses the commitment of the MBRSG to providing RTA’s staffs with academic and practical expertise aligned with RTA’s corporate directions. For this purpose, the College will hold several programmes, courses, and workshops and carry field visits aimed at supporting human and corporate development,” she noted.
“This sort of partnerships facilitates the empowerment of nationals and assists them with their career progression. Under the MoU, RTA has endorsed the MBRSG as one of the selected universities for Master’s scholarships to employees who fulfil the enrollment conditions. During the course of study, employees will be exposed to knowledge and skills enabling them to perform more effectively. The starting point will be an induction session about the future government,” she added.
The MoU is based on four pillars:
Scholarships: RTA endorses MBRSG as one of the proposed universities for Master’s degree programmes offered by the second party to applicants fulfilling the academic conditions of enrollment. Inductees will have exposure to new skills and knowledge enabling them to face challenges and link theory with practice using advanced methods and tools.
Specialized Training: RTA will add MBRSG to the list of accredited entities providing specialized training to RTA staff. The second party will groom and qualify employees of the first party, or any other entities recommended by the first party in the form of training courses and workshops agreed to by both parties on due course.
Research and Studies: The two parties will cooperate in R&D, publishing research & studies, and documenting the best practices and services in areas of common interest. The parties will agree on the scope of this cooperation and their commitments on due course.
Public Events: Both parties will cooperate in knowledge sharing besides organising discussion panels, workshops, forums, and conferences with the aim of boosting cooperation. The parties will agree on the scope of this cooperation and their commitments on due course.
