Statement by Mattar Al Tayer marking 53rd UAE Eid Al Etihad

His Excellency Mattar Al Tayer, Commissioner General for Infrastructure, Urban Planning, and Well-Being Pillar, extended his heartfelt congratulations to His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, President of the UAE; His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President, Prime Minister, Ruler of Dubai; Their Highnesses the Supreme Council Members, Rulers of the Emirates; the Crown Princes, Deputy Rulers; as well as the citizens and residents of the UAE, on the occasion of the 53rd UAE Eid Al Etihad (National Day).
This historic day commemorates the unification of the Emirates under the banner of the Union on 2 December 1971. Al Tayer expressed heartfelt prayers for the nation’s leaders, commending their unwavering efforts to fulfill the aspirations of the people and to advance greater prosperity and well-being for all. He also extended his wishes for good health and happiness to everyone celebrating this cherished occasion.
He added: "The 2nd of December is a remarkable milestone that honours the achievements of a nation founded by the late Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan and Sheikh Rashid bin Saeed Al Maktoum. Over the past 53 years, the UAE has established itself as a remarkable model of success, distinguished by extraordinary accomplishments.
“Each year, National Day renews a sense of joy and pride in the hearts of citizens, residents, and visitors, celebrating the exceptional progress of the United Arab Emirates. The nation continues to set a global benchmark for comprehensive development, innovation, and leadership across all fields.
"Under the visionary leadership of our nation, the United Arab Emirates has reached remarkable economic, social, and urban milestones, positioning itself among the world's most advanced nations. The UAE continues to excel in global competitiveness rankings, advancing three positions this year to secure seventh place globally and ranking among the top ten in over 90 key indicators in the 2024 Global Competitiveness Report.
"These achievements in economic, social, and urban development are unparalleled by any standard. However, the greatest accomplishment lies in empowering human capabilities by equipping individuals with knowledge, intellect, culture, and diverse expertise, enabling them to drive the nation’s progress and sustainable development.
"The UAE’s prudent approach to foreign policy and regional and international relations embodies its commitment to principles of good neighbourliness, respect for international agreements, and extending a helping hand to brothers and friends worldwide to alleviate the suffering of vulnerable nations."
