Through Website

  1. The customer enters his Emirates ID, driving licence details, or traffic file number.
  2. The system verifies the customer’s identity by sending an OTP to his registered phone number.
  3. The customer applies for Replacing a Lost/Damaged Driving Licence.
  4. The customer settles all required fees and fines by credit card.
  5. The customer receives a temporary driving licence by email while waiting for the new licence, which can be delivered through the below channels:
    • Self Service Machines
    • Customer Happiness Centres in Deira or Al Barsha
    • Through the delivery service, the delivery fees are as follows:
      • Standard delivery 20 AED
      • Same day delivery 35 AED
      • Delivery within 2 hours 50 AED
      • International delivery 50 AED.
  6. The customer with an Apple device can receive the electronic licence from the Apple Wallet through the RTA Dubai App.


Through Smart Apps

  1. The customer enters the following information:
    • Driving licence number
    • Issue date
    • Birth year
    • Traffic code number.
  2. The customer specifies the reason for printing the driving licence (lost or damaged)
  3. The customer settles all required fees and fines by credit card.
  4. The customer receives a temporary driving licence by email to print while waiting for the new licence, which can be delivered through the below channels:
    • Self Service Machines
    • Customer Happiness Centres in Deira or Al Barsha
    • Through the delivery service, with the delivery fees as follows:
      • Standard delivery 20 AED
      • Same day delivery 35 AED
      • Delivery within 2 hours 50 AED
      • International delivery 50 AED.
  5. The customer with an Apple device can receive the electronic licence from the Apple Wallet through the RTA Dubai App.

Through Mahboub Chatbot

  1. The customer types Lost my driving licence or my licence is damaged in the chat box.
  2. The customer provides the following information: traffic file number, licence issuance date, birth year with format (YYYY) e.g. 1988, driver licence number.
  3. The customer provides the reason for replacement.
  4. The customer selects a delivery method from below methods:
    • Electronic document sent to the customer’s registered email
    • Through the delivery service, the delivery fees are as follows:
      • Standard delivery 20 AED
      • Same day delivery 35 AED
      • Delivery within 2 hours 50 AED
      • International delivery 50 AED.
  5. The customer fills the delivery information.
  6. The customer settles the fines.
  7. The customer settles the required fees through credit card.
  8. The customer with an Apple device can receive the electronic licence from the Apple Wallet through the RTA Dubai App.

Through Self Service Machines

  1. The customer enters the required information on the screen: the driving licence number, the driving licence issuing authority, the year of birth, the reason for reprinting the driving licence (lost or damaged).
  2. The driving licence details are displayed to the customer for verification and completion of the transaction.
  3. The customer settles the fines, if any.
  4. The customer settles the required fees.
  5. The customer prints the driving licence through the Self Service Machine.
  6. The customer with an Apple device can receive the electronic licence from the Apple Wallet through the RTA Dubai App.

  • Question 1: If the customer updated information, such as picture, name, or nationality in the traffic file, and replaced the driving licence, will he get the new driving licence updated with information added to the traffic file?

Answer 1: Yes, he will receive the new driving licence updated with the new information added to the traffic file without the need to apply for amending the driver licence data.

  • Question 2: Can a customer apply for a driving licence replacement without a valid Emirates ID?

Answer 2: No, to apply for replacing a lost or damaged driving licence, the customer's traffic file must be updated using a valid Emirates ID.
