Transfer a driving licence from Dubai

1. The customer heads to the front desk employee.
2. The employee sends a link to the customer.
3. The customer uploads the required documents through the link.
4. The customer receives the transaction code.
5. The customer submits the transaction code to the front desk employee to complete the service process and check the application.
6. The customer hands over the original driving licence.
7. The customer settles the required fees.
8. The customer receives electronic copies of the receipt and the NOC to the e-mail address registered in the system, and an SMS to the registered phone number including a link to download the certificate and a copy of the transaction receipt.

Transfer a driving licence to Dubai

1. The customer heads to the front desk employee.
2. The employee sends a link to the customer.
3. The customer uploads the required documents through the link.
4. The customer receives the transaction code.
5. The customer submits the transaction code to the front desk employee to complete the service process and check the application.
6. The customer settles the required fees.
7. The customer receives electronic copies of the receipt and the driving licence to the e-mail address registered in the system, and an SMS to the registered phone number including a link to download the driving licence and a copy of the transaction receipt.

Through Driving Institutes

To transfer a driving profile to or from Dubai

1. The customer heads to the concerned employee.
2. The customer submits the traffic file to the employee.
3. The customer settles the required fees.
4. The customer receives the transfer certificate of the test file to another emirate.

Through Website

To transfer a driving licence issued in Dubai to another emirate

1. The customer goes to Transferring a Driving Profile from Dubai to another Emirate page.
2. The customer enters his Emirates ID number and expiry date to access his personal profile.
3. The customer receives an OTP on his registered phone number.
4. The system displays the emirate to which the licence can be transferred.
5. The customer uploads the required documents and submits the application if he agrees with the emirate suggested by the system.
6. If the customer wants to transfer his licence to another emirate, he uploads the additional supporting documents requested by the system.
7. If the documents are accepted, the customer receives the Drivers Licensing Department approval through SMS (in case of transferring the licence to Abu Dhabi).
8. The customer pays the required fees.
9. The customer downloads the Digital Transfer Licence Certificate (NOC) from the RTA website dashboard.
10. The customer hands over the Digital Transfer Licence Certificate and Dubai original Driving Licence at the Drivers Licensing Department of the other emirate.
11. The customer submits the required documents at the other emirate Drivers Licensing Department to obtain the licence.

To transfer the driving licence from another emirate to Dubai

1. The customer logs in to the website and selects Transferring a Driving Licence from another emirate to Dubai.
2. The customer verifies the driving licence information and chooses the delivery method.
3. The customer attaches the supporting documents to transfer his licence from another emirate to Dubai (proof of work or residence or study in Dubai).
4. The Drivers Licensing Department reviews the application and, if approved, sends an SMS notification to the customer to proceed with the process.
5. The customer takes an eye test or a medical test if his profession is a driver.
6. The customer logs in to the website to complete the process.
7. The customer settles the required fees.
8. The customer receives the driving licence electronically and through the selected delivery method

To transfer a driving profile from or to Dubai

1. The customer logs in to the website and selects Transferring Driving Profile from or to Dubai
2. The customer enters the reason for transferring his file to another emirate.
3. The system indicates the emirate to which the licence can be transferred through integration with the UAE Pass system.
4. The customer attaches the required documents and submits the application if he intends to transfer his licence to the emirate suggested by the system.
5. If the customer wants to transfer his licence to another emirate, he attaches the specific supporting documents requested by the system.
6. The contracted Driving Institute reviews the application and, if the attached documents are accepted, sends approval via SMS to the customer to proceed with the process.
7. The customer settles the required fees.
8. The customer receives electronically the NOC to transfer his test file from Dubai to another emirate or the opposite.

To transfer a driving licence from another emirate to Dubai

• The issuance date of the transferred driving licence remains the same as the original date specified by the other emirate.
• The expiry date is calculated from the date of issuance in Dubai up to 10 years for UAE and GCC citizens who are 21 years and above, and up to 5 years for residents who are 21 years and above.

• Hatta Tasjeel Centre provides this service during weekdays only:
  • Monday to Thursday from 7:00 a.m. till 3:00 p.m.
  • Friday from 4:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m.
    
• The customer must be present in person.
• The driving licence must be valid.
• The driving licence is withdrawn when transferred.

To transfer a driving licence from another emirate to Dubai

• The customer must be present in person.
• If the customer has a traffic file, the licence is transferred to the same file and the customer is exempted from the fees of opening the traffic file.
• If the customer does not have a traffic file, he must open a new file.
• The driving licence must be valid at the time of transfer.
• If the customer has a visa from another emirate, and wants to transfer his driving licence from the other emirate to Dubai, and if an NOC is required from RTA, he can apply for it in Dubai, free of charge, from any RTA Customer Happiness Centre or through RTA website provided that he works for a company that has a branch in Dubai under the same name stated in the trade licence.
  

For NOC to transfer a test file from Dubai to another emirate or the opposite

• The customer must retake all training lessons (theoretical and practical) if he didn't take the practical test in another emirate.
• If the customer failed his road test in another emirate and wants to transfer his test file to Dubai, all his training data or internal tests completed in the other emirate are discarded, and he has to take 8 training classes, provided that no more than 2 years have passed since the practical test, then apply again for the knowledge test, yard test and a road test.
