Process

Through Smart Apps

  1. The customer opens the app.
  2. The customer clicks on the parking tab then selects pay the parking fees.
  3. The customer selects the zone, vehicle plate number and parking duration.
  4. The customer selects the payment method: SMS or mParking (requires topping-up) or Apple pay.

Top up mParking account

  1. The customer clicks on Top-up.
  2. The customer selects Top-up amount (minimum 10 AED).
  3. The customer selects the payment method: Apple pay, Dubai Now account, or credit card.

Through Mahboub Chatbot - Whatsapp

  1. The customer sends a message to Mahboub Chatbot on +971 58 800 9090 in the following format: vehicle’s plate number and code <space> area code <space> duration in hour.

For example: A00000 in area 000A for 2 hours: A00000 000A 2.

Note: The area code is written on the directive signboards of the parking.

  1. The amount is deducted from the customer's mParking account.
  2. The customer receives a confirmation message that includes the details of the purchased ticket.
  3. The customer receives a reminder notification 15 minutes before the expiry of the parking ticket.
  4. If the customer desires to extend the parking time, he must click Extend/Repurchase or type ‘Y’ on Mahboub Chatbot.

Note: Alternatively, the customer can scan the WhatsApp QR code on the parking signboard to start an interactive service journey.

Through Mahboub Chatbot on RTA Website and Smart Apps

  1. The customer logs in using his username and password.
  2. The customer inquires about the service through a conversation with Mahboub, for example: Pay public parking fees.
  3. The customer enters the required details (vehicle type, Plate type, source and number).
  4. The customer pays the required fees.
  5. The amount is deducted from the customer's mParking account.
  6. The customer receives a confirmation message that includes the details of the ticket.

Through App Clips

  1. The customer scans the service code on the machines available in the parking control areas.
  2. The App Clips service icon appears at the top of the screen with an OPEN button.
  3. The customer clicks OPEN.
  4. The area information (area number and code) is displayed.
  5. The customer enters the required details (phone number, plate source, plate code and number, and the requested parking period).
  6. The customer clicks Continue to proceed with the payment and obtains the ticket details.
  7. The customer clicks Pay to settle the payment through Apple Pay.
  8. After successful payment, the ticket information is displayed for confirmation: area number, parking period, and vehicle data.
  9. The customer receives a notification before the ticket expires.

Through SMS

For Non-Registered Customers

  1. The customer sends an SMS to 7275 according to the following format: vehicle’s plate number and code <space> area code <space> duration in hour. For example: A 00000 in area 000 A for 2 hours: A00000 000A 2. For messages in Arabic the customer starts the SMS with the letter A followed by his plate number. For example: A A00000 000A.
  2. The customer receives a confirmation SMS that includes the details of the purchased e-ticket.
  3. The customer receives another SMS before the end of the parking time.
  4. If the customer desires to extend the parking time, he must send an SMS with the letter Y or ن to 7275 during the validity of the e-ticket.

Note: The area code is written on the directive signboards of parking.

For Registered Customers

  1. The customer sends an SMS to 7275 in the following format: nickname <space> area code <space> duration in hour. For example: Ali1 000A 2 (for using the parking for 2 hours) or Ali1 000A (for using the parking for 1 hour).
  2. The customer receives a confirmation SMS that includes the details of the purchased e-ticket.
  3. The customer receives another SMS before the end of the parking time.
  4. If the customer desires to extend the parking time, he must send an SMS with the letter Y or ن to 7275 during the validity of the e-ticket.

Through Parking Machines

  1. The customer clicks on the Start button.
  2. The customer selects the parking area and payment method:
    • Using coins
      • The customer enters the vehicle plate details (source, code, and number).
      • The customer selects the parking duration and then confirms it.
      • The customer inserts coins in denomination of 1 dirham and 50 fils in the machine.
      • The customer confirms the payment (paying with or without a receipt).
      • An electronic ticket is issued, without the need to display the receipt on the vehicle front in case the customer chose to pay with a receipt.
    • Using nol card
      • The customer inserts nol card in the machine.
      • The customer enters the vehicle plate details (source, code, and number).
      • The customer selects the parking duration and then confirms it.
      • The customer confirms the payment (paying with or without a receipt).
      • An electronic ticket is issued, without the need to display the receipt on the vehicle front in case the customer chose to pay with a receipt.

Terms and conditions
  • The customer can check the service usage conditions of all parking fees payment, and the fines value through mParking on RTA website.
  • If the customer purchased a parking ticket from the smart parking meters with touch screens through nol card, the parking meter stores the last 3 vehicle plate numbers for which parking tickets were issued using the customer's nol card. The customer can then use the parking ticket in another meter without the need to register his plate number again.
  • Electric vehicles were exempted from parking fees from July 2020 for a period of two years ending on July 3, 2022. Therefore, electric vehicles are required to pay parking fees starting July 4, 2022.
  • There are free parking spaces for Eco-friendly vehicles marked with signs and directional panels.
  • Eco-friendly parking spaces can be used for a maximum of 4 hours, and a fine of 100 AED is applied when exceeding this period.
  • A fine of 1,000 AED is applied when eco-friendly parking spaces are used by non-eco-friendly vehicles.
  • Eco-friendly vehicles that can use those parking spaces fall under the following categories:
    • Battery Electrical Vehicles
    • Hybrid Electrical Vehicles
    • Fuel Cell Electrical Vehicles.

  • Question 1: Is there a way to save the vehicle number when paying through the smart parking meters with touch screens?

Answer 1: Yes, the customer can use nol cards in the smart parking meters with touch screens and select 1 of the 3 recent plate numbers used without manually entering the plate details.

  • Question 2: Can the customer extend the parking ticket?

Answer 2: Yes, he can extend using the following methods:

    • SMS (Send Y or ن)
    • RTA Smart App
    • WhatsApp (Click Yes and Type Y)
  • Question 3: Can the customer track his parking usage?

Answer 3: Yes, the customer can view the parking history through RTA Dubai (View My Parking Transactions) or RTA Website or request it to be sent to him by email.

  • Question 4: Where are the eco-friendly vehicle parking located?

Answer 4: Eco-friendly vehicle parking lots are distributed throughout the emirate of Dubai and within areas subject to parking fees.

  • Question 5: What types of vehicles are authorised to use eco-friendly vehicle parking?

Answer 5:

  1. Battery Electrical Vehicles
  2. Hybrid Electrical Vehicles (electric engine and conventional fuel engine)
  3. Fuel Cell Electrical Vehicles.
  • Question 6: What is the permitted period for the authorised vehicles to use for free the eco-friendly parking lots?

Answer 6: The vehicle is allowed to park for a maximum of 4 hours, and the parking spaces are marked with signs and lines that illustrate this.

  • Question 7: What is the fine value applied to non eco-friendly vehicles when using the eco-friendly parking?

Answer 7: The fine value is 1,000 AED.
