HH Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Approves Five-Year Internal Roads Plan (2025-2029)

RTA opened two major bridges on Sunday, 15 September 2024, as part of Garn Al Sabkha-Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Road Intersection Improvement Project. The first is a 2-lane bridge, spanning 601 metres with a capacity of 3,200 vehicles per hour, the second is a 2-lane bridge, spanning 664 metres.

361 million riders in H1 2024
RTA announced that the number of users of public transport and shared mobility means in Dubai—including Metro, Tram, public buses, marine transport, Taxis, e-hail vehicles, smart rental vehicles, and on-demand buses—reached about 361.2 million in the first half of 2024.

Completing Construction of 10 Truck Rest Stops
RTA has completed the construction of 10 out of 16 Truck Rest Stops in cooperation with the ADNOC. The trucks rest Stops strategically distributed across six key locations, including Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Road, Emirates Road, Dubai - Hatta Road, Dubai - Al Ain Road, Jebel Ali - Lehbab Road, and Al Awir Road, all of which attract a high volume of daily truck traffic.

Half Million Trip Increase in the Taxi Sector During the First Half of 2024
The taxi sector in Dubai increased by 500 thousand trips in the first half of this year (2024) compared to last year (2023). In the first half of this year, there were 55.7 million journeys, an increase from the 55.3 million journeys in the same period last year.
